Virginia Lottery Super Teacher - Award #1
Joseph Hicks, a third grade teacher at Stone-Robinson Elementary School in Charlottesville, has been selected to receive the Super Teacher Award.

A student’s parent, Tara Mincer, wrote the winning essay that described his creativity and innovation in the classroom, as well as his ability to be a role model for the children.

Virginia Lottery Super Teacher - Award #2
Diane Healy, a first grade teacher at J.B. Watkins Elementary School in Chesterfield, has been selected to receive the Super Teacher Award.

A student’s parent, Lisa Brown, wrote the winning essay that described her creativity in the classroom and her initiative to enhance her students’ learning in any way possible.

Virginia Lottery Super Teacher - Award #3

Carolyn Wojtera, a first grade teacher at McHarg Elementary School in Radford, has been selected to receive the Super Teacher Award.

Tracie Shelton Farmer’s daughter is in Mrs. Wojtera’s first grade class. Farmer, who is also Mrs. Wojtera’s colleague, wrote the winning essay that described her creativity in and out of the classroom.

2nd place winner was tied between Rhonda Anderson from Galax Elementary School and Leslie Barrett from Bland Elementary School followed by 3rd place winner Rebecca Teed from Scott Memorial Middle School.

Joel Block, a high school math teacher at George Mason High School in Falls Church , has been selected to receive the Super Teacher Award.

A student’s parent, Cecily Shea, wrote the winning essay that described his commitment to helping his students (and their parents) understand math and make learning fun.

Particia Chimento, a physical education teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Woodbridge, has been selected to receive the Super Teacher Award.

Ms. Chimento’s colleague, Mary Jane C. Frowert, wrote the winning essay that described her compassion and enthusiasm with the children and her devotion to extracurricular sponsorship.
